Janine Ortega is a results-driven hospitality and tourism leader dedicated to strengthening San Antonio's visitor economy through member engagement. As Director of Membership Engagement at Visit San Antonio, she leads initiatives that grow and engage members with opportunities that advance Visit San Antonio's mission of "bringing the world to San Antonio." Through innovative member programs and industry collaboration, she helps educate partners on their role in elevating the visitor experience within the tourism ecosystem.
Under her leadership, Visit San Antonio's membership program has achieved 53% growth while maintaining a 90% member retention rate, positioning it among the nation's top-performing Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) membership programs. Janine also successfully launched the San Antonio Hospitality Champion Program (SA Champ), a tourism certification that equips hospitality professionals to become knowledgeable champions for the city and elevate the visitor experience.
Prior to joining Visit San Antonio, Janine served as Vice President of Growth and Business Operations in the financial services industry, where she led initiatives that drove 350% business growth. She is passionate about empowering members to leverage San Antonio's tourism ecosystem by creating opportunities that increase visibility, collaboration, and business success for them.
