Armando Seledon-Obregon, CSEP is an award-winning event and tourism professional with more than 17 years of experience in event production, destination services, sales, membership engagement, and community development. His career has included weddings, social celebrations, corporate programs, experiential activations, conventions, and large-scale trade shows. Recognized for his creativity, leadership, and attention to detail, Armando has received local, national, and international awards for his event design and production work.
Armando currently serves as Associate Director of Membership Engagement at Visit San Antonio, where he plays an integral role in strengthening relationships across the city’s hospitality and tourism community. Through member recruitment, engagement initiatives, educational programming, industry events, and strategic partnerships, he connects local businesses with opportunities to participate in and benefit from San Antonio’s growing visitor economy. His work helps elevate the organizations, attractions, venues, hotels, restaurants, and service providers that make San Antonio a leading destination for meetings, conventions, leisure travel, and unforgettable experiences.
Armando holds the prestigious Certified Special Events Professional designation and is also a Certified Tourism Ambassador and San Antonio Hospitality Champion. These credentials reflect his commitment to professional excellence, destination advocacy, and creating meaningful experiences for both visitors and residents.
His professional journey includes serving as Special Events Manager and Producer for Central Texas’ largest convention-style bridal show, owning and operating a floral, planning, and event design company for five years, and contributing his expertise to respected organizations such as Capers Destination Management Company and Hosts Texas.
Armando is also an entrepreneur and co-owner of MOV EXP, a San Antonio-based experience and event company he operates alongside his husband. MOV EXP creates engaging tours, interactive team-building programs, event activations, and customized destination experiences that celebrate the culture, history, and character of San Antonio. Its offerings include signature experiences such as the Her’Story Tour and Pearl Taco Tour, as well as hands-on programs designed to foster creativity, connection, and a deeper appreciation for the destination.
Deeply committed to advancing the live-events profession, Armando has dedicated more than a decade to leadership within the International Live Events Association. He has served as President of the ILEA San Antonio Chapter, Southwest Regional Vice President, and Director of Programs and Education on ILEA’s Board of Governors.
A proud Chicago native who now calls Texas home, Armando celebrates the cultural diversity, history, and hospitality of his adopted state. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, exploring new experiences, and proudly representing the BeyHive. After all, who runs the world? Beyoncé.
